John William Holt was a 21 year old Clerk, born in Blackley, Manchester, when he attested into the Royal Army Medical Corps, October 1901. His next of kin is given as his sister Mary Norma Holt, 18 Birch Green, Forest Range, Levenshulme, Manchester. He later saw service in World War One with the Royal Army Medical Corps. His address at the time was 9 Albert Road, Levenshulme. He was 35 years old when he re-enlisted in 1915. He went onto serve in the Egypt Theatre and later in France. He served from 1915 to 1920. His service number was 749 (350464) and he was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal pair.
