Indian Volunteer Forces Officers’ Decoration to: Capt. V. N. F. Powell 1/ B.B. C. L. Ry. Regt.

Vivian Norman Folliott Powell was commissioned into the Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway (BB&CI) Rly Volunteers on 2 Apr 1911. Awarded his India Volunteers Decoration on 18 Jul 1925. His war service is given as:  Lt IARO Cavalry. France, Egypt & Iraq  Dec 1914 to Mar 1920.

Mentioned in Despatches, Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force, London Gazette 15th August 1917. His entry, in the Royal Engineers Section, is as follows: POWELL, 2nd LT. V.N.F. , I.A.R.O.

Born on Christmas Day, 25th December 1887 at Mount Abu,St Saviour, Bombay. Attended Bedford Grammar School, Bedford, England. He died in Bideford, North Devon in 1971.
