20 yr old Robert Frame attested19th August 1874 at Dublin. He was from the Parish of St Paul’s, Saintfield, Co. Down, Ireland. He became a Shoeing Smith in 1876 and rose to the rank of Farrier Sergeant. He served for 21 years of which over 12 years were spent in India. He was with C Brigade in Afghanistan, 7th Battery in Egypt and 7th Battery in Burma. He was slightly wounded to the hand in 1890. Comes with copy service papers from the National Archives.
These medals have been worn with pride and there is contact wear to the naming which has obscured some parts of the naming as is usual in a group that he been properly worn. Please see images provided.
